Fay Postpones Citrus Co. Speedway Back To School Bash

(Inverness, Fl. 8/23/08) Tropical Storm Fay left most of Florida’s race tracks rethinking their Saturday night race programs. Citrus County Speedway had the annual
"Back to School Bash" scheduled and needless to say, the kids bicycle races were put on hold, just as the race card was, due to the weather conditions throughout the week.

Citrus County Speedway took a look at the weather report on Thursday and rubbed their crystal ball for a look at Saturday night and wisely cancelled the race program to let drivers, car owners, bike racers and fans know early that they would have to wait for another opportunity to do their thing.

Just like back to school restart dates were delayed, the "Back to School Bash" bicycle races have been reschedule for next Saturday, August 30^th. Kids should come early and register in their age groups with their bikes and safety equipment, to include a helmet, elbow and knee pads at the front gate. Children 16 and under will be admitted to the grandstand side only free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult.

Along with the bike races the regular schedule will feature the Street Stocks in a 50 lap Feature, Open Wheel Modifieds, Figure 8’s, Sportsman, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks, V8 Thunder Stocks and 4 Cylinder Bombers taking on the popular 3/8ths mile oval. This will be another busy night at the Action Attraction, Citrus County Speedway in Inverness.
